Courtyard Kitchen

Open-air outdoor island in stone and steel: barbecue, sink and storage in a low block that matches walls and paving.

The Courtyard Kitchen is a free-standing island for courtyards and walled gardens. The light stone-finish block integrates barbecue, sink and storage; the stainless-steel equipment is removable or covered by concealed tops. No structure above: the kitchen reads as a piece of courtyard furniture.

In detail

A low island in stone and steelConcept

A low island in stone and steel

The L-shaped island follows the boundary wall and stays below eye level: stone cladding, steel doors, the barbecue at the corner. The courtyard goes on being a courtyard.

From the short side you read the thickness of the island and the barbecue with its steel lid, flush with the worktop. Storage compartments run the full length beneath.

Seen from the houseConcept

Seen from the house

From the French window the kitchen is a few steps away and the table right beside it: the distance between the cook and the guests is that of a single room.

The stainless steel bowl is set into the stone worktop; the steel door below sits flush. Two materials, one line.

Stone and steel

A dark stone worktop over a brushed stainless carcass, one of the possible finishes: the worktop oversails the front and the joint with the steel stays tight.
